Founded in October of 2007, Soroptimist International (SI) Club Bensheim/Heppenheim became the 179th Club within SI Germany (SI Deutschland). Since then, around thirty women from Bensheim, Heppenheim and the surrounding area are meeting regularly to translate the three SI principles awareness, advocacy and action into reality.
Our Soroptimist club is an integral part of an international network. The name, Soroptimist, means “best for women,” and that’s what the organization strives to achieve. Soroptimists are women at their best, working to help other women to be their best.
Soroptimist International, which consists of Soroptimist International of the Americas, Soroptimist International of Europe, Soroptimist International of Great Britain & Ireland and Soroptimist International of the South West Pacific, is a global volunteer movement working together to transform the lives of women and girls. The network of over 75,000 club members in 130 countries works at a local, national and international level to Educate, Empower and Enable opportunities for women and girls.
Women and girls will achieve their individual and collective potential, realise aspirations and have an equal voice in creating strong, peaceful communities worldwide.
